Summary:When his mother expresses disapproval with the inclusion of Sarah's mother and stepfather on the wedding guest list, Andrew and Sarah use the opportunity to convince the monarch that allowing them to become a Navy husband and wife would be the patriotic thing to do. Manipulating one's mother might have been wrong, but Andrew knows how to get what he wants: Sarah with him and away from Lady Diana.
Pressed into service to host the Barranteses, Charles and Diana are forced to pretend that they are capable of getting along, never mind that it isn't true, and neither of them are good actors. Appearances are everything for the Windsors, even if they're hosting someone who fought against Britain in the Falklands. In order to be a good hostess, Diana finds herself in bed with Hector. She's bored, and he gave her attention.
The resultant pregnancy is passed off as Charles's, and it's easy to tell Sarah that she wanted to experience pregnancy together. Who cares that she hadn't known Andrew had gotten Sarah pregnant on the honeymoon? Charles bought it. Sarah has been hurt before by people she loves, and is somewhat suspicious of Diana, but she can't resist the thought of Beatrice and Victoria being just like sisters.

He doesn't see what the difference is between them and his parents being stationed in Malta. When the Navy declares that it's a security risk, he chooses his family over his career. Bad enough that he got her pregnant again with a nine month old, she can't be expected to do that alone.
Edward has just broken up with his longterm girlfriend when he runs into Sophie Rhys-Jones at a tennis tournament. He insists that they're just friends, but it quickly becomes something more.
Though Charles and Diana insist that they have a happy marriage, cracks are beginning to show among the Waleses union, especially when the press begins to compare them to that of the Yorks. Diana herself is jealous of the love and attention Sarah gets from Andrew. Charles thinks she should be grateful for what she has. She married the crown, didn't she? Summary: It is Charles (not Maj. Lindsey) who gets caught in the avalanche in Klosters, and all efforts are made to save him. Everyone - save Diana -- is relieved when he wakes. To her, Charles is defective, and she decides to finish what the avalanche started. She won't let him take her chance at the crown away.
When HMTQ names Andrew as the new Regent, he and Sarah are simply relieved it means that they can be together during her pregnancy. All they've ever wanted is to be a normal, married, couple. Summary: Never complain, never explain has always been the motto of the house of Windsor, but what happens when adherence to that becomes impossible?
An interview that the Wessexes and Yorks did with People Weekly blows Diana's cover as 'Eliza Ferguson', and her rage at being discovered causes her to make a fatal error. After pretending that she and her boyfriend had purposely plotted together, she awakes to find herself in a hospital room, The Duchess of York sat in the visitors chair. Diana hasn't seen Sarah in years, and she definitely doesn't want to start now.
Royal duties are royal duties, but the news that they are expected to retrieve the Waleses is one Sarah loathes. Duch ruined her life, and she's expected to bring her home to England and care for her and her children? The fact that she's hidden Charles's twins from The Queen doesn't help matters, nor does the jealousy that is rife between the York girls and the Waleses. Duch, of course, seems to think that she can slot back in as her friend. Never mind the years of therapy she'd caused her, and the fact that she borrowed her sister's name.
For Diana, she wants things to return to normal. Why can't they? She gave up and came home.

Summary: With Anne and Mark’s divorce out of the way, and Windsor Castle nearly burnt to an entire crisp, Queen Elizabeth figures that the only other awful happenstance is the fact that she’s forced into staying at Buckingham Palace until their trip to Sandringham. Rumours of martial unrest between the Waleses have been laid to rest by the news that Diana is pregnant, and Andrew’s reassignment to RNAS Portland has allowed the Yorks relationship to flourish. If it upsets Philip? Oh well. The last thing Elizabeth wants is another divorce in the family.
Rumours that erupt during Anne and Tim’s wedding regarding the parentage of the Wales baby are summarily dismissed, as are the rumours that the extra child the Yorks have been saddled with is the product of Charles and Camilla. Affairs are acceptable, being foolish with them is not. The Duchess of York’s attempts to feed into those rumours’ legitimacy is similarly rebuffed.
Over the Christmas holiday, ignoring the elephants in the room becomes a truly untenable situation.
